Eminem, Hova & all star cast take over Yankee Stadium

Last night Eminem and Jay-Z hit the stage at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx with a serious amount of supporting heavy hitters. After already performing in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit, Eminem’s entourage included D12, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and newcomer B.o.B. Jay Z shared the stage with wife Beyonce, protege Kanye West, Nikki Minaj, Chris Martin from Coldplay, and Drake. Em and Hova collaborated on one of our all time favorite songs, Renegade.

The last performance is tonight and g-d only knows who is going to show up to this concert. My guess is Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Elton John and P Diddy to name a few but that’s only a guess. Who do you think will make an appearance?

Obie Trice Launches Record Label Today

Obie Trice left Shady Records back in June of 2008 after releasing two albums, ‘Cheers’ and ‘Second Rounds On Me’. He dropped a track called ‘Giant’ in 2008 which hinted that he left the label because of Shady Records’ distributing label, Interscope. Now Obie is making some business moves and starting his own record label called Black Market Entertainment LLC. Obie told AllHipHop that the label was started in hopes to discover new artists from Detroit, “Recognition for Detroit artists is a must, and Black Market Entertainment will be a conduit,” he said. Black Market Entertainment will be officially launched today in Detroit at Via Notre and the whole Shady crew is expected to attend including Eminem, Dr. Dre, D12, and Royce da 59. Eminem is also confirmed to make an appearance on Trice’s new album titled ‘Bottom’s Up’ so it seems there was no bad blood between the two after Obie’s departure. It’s also evident that Obie is keeping the alcohol theme rolling with the title of his new album.

Obie launched his first solo album called ‘Special Reserve’ last December with Canadian Producer MoSS. The album was released on MoSS’s label called Mossappeal Music.

There is no official release date yet for ‘Botom’s Up’ but it will drop sometime in 2010 and I am no doubt looking forward to it! Cheers mates.

Eminem Snags Artist of the Decade

Nielsen SoundScan, the company behind the Billboard countdowns, commemorated Eminem’s accomplishments this week by honoring him with a plaque for best selling artist of the decade. Eminem has sold a phenomenal 32 million albums in his career already and he will undoubtedly increase that number when he drops his next album “Recovery” on June 22nd. Dre. Dre, Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine, and manager Paul Rosenberg joined him at the ceremony. Something tells me Marshall keeps these awards in the basement somewhere or maybe I saw that on MTV Cribs.

Eminem and 50 Cent – Reasons for Delayed Dr Dre “Detox” Album

How long must we wait? Since the release of Dr Dre’s second solo album 2001, fans have been anxiously waiting for the highly anticipated Detox album, which was said to hit shelves back in 2009. In a recent Q & A with Slam Magazine, Dr Dre hints at the fact that us fans must wait yet another year for his third LP. As he helps his fellow artists get their albums out, Detox has evidently taken a back seat. Eminem just released Relapse which hit the stores last month, 50 Cent released Before I Self-Destruct and The Game is set to release his R.E.D. Album later this year – all of which Dr Dre has worked on. But as we go back and dig in our collection, and take out Dre’s 2001 and play tracks like “The Watcher,” “Forget about Dre,” featuring Eminem and “The Next Episode,” featuring Snoop, we are reminded of those crafty-engineered beats and punch-line lyrics. We can only expect the same, if not more from Detox. Dre would clearly have had enough time!

50 Cent Gives Details On Dr. Dre’s Detox

50 Cent recently talked about Dr Dre’s long-awaited “Detox” album. Saying the high-anticipated LP will have ten tracks, 50 gave his opinion on it. “Dre is actually working,” the G-Unit general promised fans during a recent interview. “I heard eight records. When it takes this long, I’ma tell you what I heard. I heard eight and Em [Eminem] said it’s ten. So it’s probably two I didn’t get a chance to hear.”

50 went on to talk about the album being delayed. “I think [the wait] actually builds more pressure. Are you trying to get it or are you trying to scare the sh*t out of ‘em? I know, its been taking him a long time. [He's also] so critical of himself at the same time. You know what it is too, I look at it like this. I love some of the things he thinks that are just ‘good’… I kinda feel like I can gauge what is necessary at this point…When’s the last time you heard a hip-hop record that didn’t have an R&B chorus in the Top 10? You understand what I’m saying. It’s changing hip-hop music to the point where it’s necessary for you to have an R&B artist or perform like an R&B artist on the hook…You can tell the deejay to slow down but when motherf*cking [Black Eyed Peas' ] ‘Boom Boom Pow’ is No. 1, how you gonna tell the artist what to make?”
