I’ve been waiting to write this post for a couple weeks now after our little rivalry with the Avenge Sevenfold fans or should we say “Average 7″, ha. To be honest we don’t really think what we wrote on the last post was so malicious, we definitely didn’t mean any disrespect to their late drummer; we were just saying our opinion that heavy metal is diarrhea to our ears.
My favorite responses definitely had to be people that assumed that we don’t listen to any other music over here at The Lounge just because we deteste heavy metal. We listened to it all over here, if you looked at our Top 25 on our iTouch you would find range of artists from Ray Charles to Death Cab for Cutie to Big Boi’s new album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty.
Anyway, Eminem is back on his throne where he belongs after being on the second spot for two weeks behind Arcade Fire’s new album. Our best friend’s, Avenged Sevenfold’s album, Nightmare, finished ahead of Recovery two week ago, sold 27,000, just barely enough to stay in the top ten. The world is finally making sense again.
Recovery’s total album sales for the last 8 weeks has come to around 2.1 million sold which has made it the number 2 top selling album in 2010 behind Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now at 2.5 million.
