I thought since we’re all obviously big fans of Eminem I would let you guys in on the next big white rapper if you haven’t gotten the memo yet. I’m trying to write this post while listening to him and it’s proving to be very difficult because the beats and lyrics are so sick I can’t focus. Mike Posner is not just a rapper either, like Drake he is part of the new hybrid model of rappers who can spit but can also sing.  Posner doesn’t stop there he also produces his own beats.  I was first turned on to Mike Posner from my friend Matty who works at Zomba Records. You might have heard of them they represent the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, R Kelly, Usher, and many others. Posner was signed by J Records who also have quiet the roster of artists including Jamie Fox, Alicia Keys, and Mario.

A bit about the man: Posner grew up in Southfield, Michigan and has been making beats since he was 13. Yup he is only 21 years old and is a senior at Duke University so he is obviously a pretty sharp dude. Posner did an incredible cover of Beyonce’s “Halo” and it was so good Beyonce herself gave him props. His album is available for free at www.MikePosner.com. Check it out you won’t regret it.
