Couple buddies of mine started a very unique clothing brand called Patches and Pockets. These native New Yorkers took old concert tees, retired work clothing, and hand-me-downs to create one-of-kind shirts and tanks. These old garments taken from friends and family were cut into hearts to be used as pockets. The Slim Shady tanks were made from an Eminem tour t-shirt from his very first Slim Shady LP tour, with The Beatnuts and Lord Sear. Your street cred goes through the roof with one of these puppies!

Eminem Carpe Diam Tuesday, August 30
Apparently Eminem requested for a wooden pond with some seriously expensive carp to be built in his backstage area. He also asked for seedless watermelon, a microwave, dumbbells, and yogurt. Everyone seems to think this is a pretty big deal. I personally think artists and celebrities ask for much more bizarre items. If Eminem wants some feng-shui in his backstage area before he rips it on stage and is surrounded by a million people then all the power to him. Everyday he walks out of his house someone wants something from him and everyday he is surrounded by people and noise.
So why did Eminem ask for Carp? Carp also known as koi symbolizes perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose because of its strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals. According to Japanese legend if a carp succeeded in climbing the falls it would be transformed into a dragon. Based on that legend, it became a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement.
Asher Roth’s New Video “Gotta Get Up” Friday, April 15
White boy college rapper Asher Roth just released his new video “Gotta Get Up” featuring D.A. and directed by my boy Luke Tedaldi! The song is tight and the video is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The video and animation has a very Fear and Loathing/Big Lebowski feel to it. I thought Asher was some mainstream poppy rapper but this track and video has proved me wrong. Wondering who the gal in the video with the super nice rack is? that’s Jase Dillan, my old friend since the 5th grade when we used to play spin the bottle in my parents basement. Jase is a very talented up and coming singer and song writer originally from the Boston suburbs. Check out those pipes on her MySpace.
Eminem Performing at Bonnaroo Monday, February 28
